I took an overnight ride to Seaside, Oregon this last weekend, likely my last overnight for the year. This will just be a summary of the ride and a few photos from the beach.
Total distance: 410 miles
I had fair weather both on my ride out and the ride back – 50s and 60s. The wind was blowing at about 12 knots, making me chilly. I would return later for sunset but hit the pool and sauna in the meantime.

Running late after spending too much time in the hot tub, the sun was setting before I got through the downtown.

This was the money shot. Sunsets here rarely disappoint.

It was a full moon rising over Seaside. I don’t remember a time when the tide was so far out.

I got on the road just before 10am. Just after crossing the Columbia River, the odometer crossed 94,000 miles.

Marking the moment on the side of Hwy 401, near Megler.

The ride home was uneventful. No rain and I was able to beat the evening commute.
