Day’s distance: 9 miles
Total trip distance: 7,184 miles
I rode the bike back to the BAK BMW dealer because I decided to go ahead and replace the back tire. It was a little early but a new tire would ensure the maximum safety factor for the rest of the trip, especially in the rain.
While I normally run 180/55ZR17 tire in the rear, the shop had the 190/55ZR17 in stock, so we used that. The price for the tire matched revzilla.com and the installation fee (mounting and balancing) was under $60. Very reasonable and, again, they got to work as soon as I arrived.
While they changed the tire, I took the opportunity to visit the Sioux City Public Museum. It is free and quite informative, for a small city focused museum. Lots of information about the history of Sioux City.
I focused my pictures on vehicles of different types, but the museum had a diverse selection of exhibits.
My afternoon hours, after picking up the bike, were filled with work. The company I work for launched a new product today and I helped let the public know, in a small way.
Dinner was here at the hotel and now it is time to plan the remainder of my trip back to Seattle. It should be dry tomorrow as I head towards Rapid City, or maybe Sturgis. Woo hoo, on the road again!
goin places that I’ve never been..
