IMG_3878 Leaving August 18th, this 1,766 mile trip took me and good friend Will to Hyder, Alaska. It took three days to get to Stewart, British Columbia, our staging point for the day we would spend exploring Hyder and the local attractions, including Fish Creek and Salmon Glacier.

Our return trip involved a ferry ride through the scenic Inside Passage from Prince Rupert to Port Hardy, on Vancouver Island. A secondary goal reached on this trip was to traverse Vancouver Island from north to south.

A second ferry trip from Victoria to Port Angeles brought us back into the US and a third ferry took us from Bainbridge Island back to Seattle. An awesome loop through some super scenic country.

  1. Glad to see a recap of your fabulous journey. We talked with you at the wonderful schoolbus restaurant in Hyder. Thanks for some suggestions about Washington, it helped us to make our travel plans.

We are still in Southern Washington camping in National Forests near Rainer and Mt. Saint Helens.

Let us know if you need any travel tips for your future journeys to Michigan or Texas.

    1. Thanks, I will definitely hit you up for Michigan ideas when the time comes for my Northern States Tour. I was just emailing another friend who mentioned that ride. I wish the weather was better for you this week, but if you’re still around this weekend, it should be sunny again. September is hit or miss here.
